Basic charge

The basic charge covers the fixed costs of producing, distributing, metering, and billing district heating.

It can also be thought of as a capacity charge – ensuring that Keravan Energia has sufficient production and network capacity available whenever it is needed. This guarantees a reliable heat supply for every district heating customer, even during the coldest winter days.

For standard connections, the basic charge is determined by the property’s maximum daily heat demand.

For detached houses, the basic charge is based on the heated building volume (m³), as defined in RT Card 120.12.

Energy charge

The energy charge covers the variable costs of producing and distributing district heating, with fuel costs accounting for the largest share. The amount of the energy charge depends on the fuels used to produce district heating for the local network and on changes in fuel taxation.

The energy charge is calculated in euros per megawatt-hour (€/MWh).

Water charge

The water charge covers the district heating water used in the system. It is calculated in euros per cubic metre (€/m³).

District heating billing is reviewed once a year to ensure it reflects your actual heating needs.

You can help keep your heating costs under control by maintaining your heating system in good condition and using energy efficiently.

When is a contract update needed?

Your district heating agreement should be reviewed whenever there are significant changes to your property’s energy demand, for example due to an extension or a change in the building’s intended use.

If you are planning changes that may affect your heating needs, please contact us as early as possible so we can ensure your agreement remains up to date.
