What to do when the power is out

If there is no electricity but it seems to be only your property that has no power, it may be the main fuse. Do this:

  • check if the fuses are intact. If the main fuse is blown, call our fault service number 020 690 590. There you’ll be given further instructions.
  • check if other fuses are ok and change them if needed.

Changing the main fuse

If the power is out in the whole or a part of the property, the cause may be that the fuses protecting the property network have blown. Such fuses are the main and group fuses, which can be found in the property’s electrical center. These fuses and their replacement are the property owner’s responsibility under the following conditions:

The customer can change the main fuses, which are located inside the property in the main center, by following the electrical safety instructions. Remember to disconnect the electricity from the main switch by turning the switch to the 0 position before changing the fuse. Instructions for replacing the main fuse yourself can be obtained from our fault service number 020 690 590.

The main fuses at the end of an air line, located in the box on the outer wall of the house, may only be changed by an professional electrician. The main fuses located in a column or in a distribution cabinet may only be changed by Kerava Energia personnel. If you want a representative of our company to change the main fuses, call our fault service number 020 690 590. We charge a fee according to our service fee price list for our installer.

If the main fuse blows repeatedly, it is likely that the connection’s main fuses are too small for the load or the load is unevenly distributed among the fuses. If the new fuse blows immediately after replacement, there is a fault in the wires or some electrical device. To fix the issue, you should contact an electrical contractor, who will determine the need for repairs or changes.

If there seems to be no fault in the fuses, check the property’s low-voltage cables if possible and, if necessary, contact an electrical contractor.

The fault may be in the PEN conductor of the low-voltage line, which may have broken (zero fault). In this case, proceed as follows:

  • switch the main switch to the 0 position to avoid the danger of overvoltage,
  • if possible, check the property’s low-voltage cables and, if necessary, contact an electrical contractor,
  • call our fault service number 020 690 590 or file a fault report at kerava.aidonone.com.

In stormy weather, if you suspect a zero fault, you should always contact the electricity network company’s emergency service, because a tree may have fallen on the line and the neutral wire may have broken.
