In fixed-term contract the price of electricity (c/kWh) and the monthly fee  (€/month) are locked down for the time period set on the contract. It can be 6, 12 or 24 months, depending on the the contract and the contract cannot be terminated in the middle of this time period. When the contract is nearing its end, the customer needs to remember to get a new contract. Fixed-term contract will be terminated if the customer moves to a different address.

Indefinitely valid contract is a more flexible option and can be terminated with 14-days notice. Unlike the fixed-term contract, you don’t have to remember to renew the contract as it is valid until you decided to end it. Varttisähkö and exchange the exchange priced Fiksusähkö are our indefinitely valid contracts.

You need to have two separate contracts, one on the sale of electricity and one on the transfer because in Finland the two have been separated from each other.

Selling electricity is a freely competitive activity in Finland which means that you can make a contract with any electricity company in Finland to obtain the electricity that you use.

Transferring the electricity or the electricity networks in Finland are not a business you can tender. Each area has one company that operates the network in that area so you always have to buy the transfer from the company that operaters in your own area. This is why there are two separate contracts even if you buy both from the same operator.

Contracts that have been made online or over the phone always ha a 14-day cancellation period for consumers. If you want to cancel a contract that you have just made with us, you have 14 days to do that from the moment the contract was made. You can cancel the contract with the form below.

I have an indefinitely valid contract

You don’t need to notify us if you switch to another electricity seller. You new seller will cancel your old contract automatically.

I have a fixed-term contract

You can’t terminate a fixed-term contract during the contract period. You can only terminate it if you are moving to another address. When you move, remember to give us your new contact details for the final invoicing.

It is not possible to terminate fixed-term electricity contract during the contract period. Our fixed-term contracts are either 6, 12 or 24 months long. This means that if you have made a contract for 24 months, it is valid for those two years in full. If you are not ready to commit to a longer contract, you should select an indefinitely valid electricity contract instead.

When you move to a new address, your contract will be terminated. End your contract when you move either at our portal or by contacting our customer service. Make a new contract for your new address at least two weeks before your moving date to ensure you have electricity when you move in.

You can see your invoices at our customer portal and in our app. Unfortunately both are currently available only in Finnish and Swedish so if you are unable to use them, contact our customer service.

If you have e-invoicing in use, you can also see them at your online bank.

Keravan Energia and Sipoon Energia as the regions network company are obligated to sell electricity to those inhabitants of the areas who are not able to obtain an electricity contract elsewhere. This is called “mandatory electricity” (Toimitusvelvollinen sähkö in Finnish). This product is meant only for those customers who have a need for the product and fill the requirements.

E-invoice is a digital version of a traditional paper invoice. It includes all the same information as the paper invoice but it is a more ecological option and you can see it directly in your online banking system well before the due date. Most banks also offer a notification service so you’ll get a message when a new invoice arrives. E-invoice is a secure option as there is no risk of the invoice going missing and you’ll have a digital archive of your previous invoices at your online bank.
E-invoicing makes paying bills very easy as all the needed information is already there, you only have to accept the payment.
