Fiksusähkö is a spot-priced electricity contract where the electricity price is based on the actual spot market price and your electricity consumption. A margin is added to the market price. The contract is valid until further notice, with no fixed-term commitment.
The contract can be signed up to 90 days before the start date.

How does a spot-priced electricity contract work?
Fiksusähkö is a spot-priced electricity contract where the electricity price is based on the actual spot market price and your electricity consumption. With Fiksusähkö, you can easily take advantage of the times when electricity prices are at their lowest.
Spot electricity pricing
Our spot-priced electricity contract has fully transparent pricing: we add a small margin and applicable taxes to the electricity exchange price. The advantage of Smart Spot compared to a traditional fixed-price electricity contract is that you always pay the current market price for your electricity.
You can get the most out of your Smart Spot contract by shifting your electricity consumption to the most affordable hours based on electricity market prices. The contract is flexible, and you are not committed to a long fixed-term agreement.

How much does spot-priced electricity cost right now?
You can check current spot electricity prices on the Nord Pool electricity exchange website. There you can find up-to-date spot prices excluding taxes. Select the Finnish price area by choosing FI.
Prices on the Nord Pool website are shown in Central European Time (CET), which is one hour behind Finnish time. Spot prices are also available in our app, which can be downloaded from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. Please note that the prices shown in the app include value-added tax (VAT).
The prices for the following day are available after 2 p.m. on the previous day. This allows you to plan and adjust your electricity consumption according to market prices and use electricity during the most affordable periods.
Track your electricity consumption
The easiest way to monitor your electricity consumption and current spot prices is with the Keravan Energia app, available for download from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
You can also track your consumption in our Customer Portal. Fiksusähkö customers can activate automatic price alerts to receive the next day’s spot electricity prices.
You can also view your electricity consumption and metering point information in Datahub, Finland’s national data exchange system for the electricity market. Datahub provides access to your consumption data and customer information across all your metering points and electricity suppliers. You can log in to Datahub using Suomi.fi authentication.

How does Fiksusähkö pricing work?
The variable price of your Fiksusähkö contract is based on Nord Pool spot market prices and your electricity consumption.
Your electricity bill is calculated by matching your consumption for each metering period with the corresponding Nord Pool spot price, plus our margin. On your bill, this calculation is shown as your total electricity consumption in kilowatt-hours (kWh) and the average electricity price (c/kWh) for the billing period.

How much does the margin affect the cost of a spot-priced electricity contract?
A spot-priced electricity contract includes a fixed margin set by the electricity supplier, which is added to the spot market price. This margin does not change with market prices and remains the same throughout your contract.
For Keravan Energia’s Fiksusähkö contract, the margin is 0.60 c/kWh. Below are examples showing how the margin affects the total cost at different levels of electricity consumption.

What if the spot electricity price goes negative?
From time to time, the spot price of electricity can fall below zero. This usually happens when there is an abundant supply of electricity on the market, for example when wind power generation is particularly high.
Please note, that even when the spot price is negative, your spot-priced electricity contract still includes the supplier’s fixed margin and a monthly basic charge.
If the spot price is negative, no VAT is charged on the negative-priced electricity. Any credit you receive as a result is therefore VAT-free. Please note that your local electricity distribution company will still charge electricity distribution fees and electricity tax. This means that although the electricity itself may have a negative price, you will still pay distribution charges and taxes based on your electricity consumption.
Where Our Electricity Comes From
5,1 % of the electricity sold by Keravan Energia is produced at our own power plants. In addition, Keravan Energia owns shares in other Finnish power plants, with electricity generated from these sources accounting for 27,5 % of our total electricity sales. The remaining 67,4% is purchased from the electricity exchange.
In 2025, the electricity we sold was produced using the following energy sources: 42,1 % renewable energy (water power, wind power, and bioenergy), 35,3 % fossil fuels, and 22.6% nuclear power.
The specific carbon dioxide emissions from fossil fuel-based electricity production were 235,26 g/kWh. The amount of spent nuclear fuel generated was 0.95 mg/kWh.
