An indefinitely valid contract is an open-ended electricity contract that does not bind you for a specific period; instead, you can terminate it with 14 days’ notice whenever you wish. Examples of such contracts include our spot-price electricity plan, Fiksusähkö, and Kvartaalisähkö, which is updated four times a year.

Our indefinitely valid contracts
Fiksusähkö
The price of Fiksusähkö is determined on an hourly basis by the Nordic electricity exchange. You can influence the final amount of your electricity bill by timing your electricity consumption. The contract has a 14-day notice period for termination
Kvartaalisähkö
Kvartaalisähkö energy price tracks, among other things, the market price of electricity on the electricity derivatives exchange. The price also includes other trading costs. The contract is subject to a 14-day notice period for termination.
Kvartaalisähkö prices are updated quarterly:
- January 1st
- April 1st
- July 1st
- October 1st
The pricing for each period is always announced a month before.
The price for each pricing period is known one month before the period takes effect: the price for the first period of the year on the last day of November; the price for the second period on the last day of February; the price for the third period on the last day of May; and the price for the fourth period on the last day of August. The price changes automatically at the start of the new period.
Indefinitely valid electricity contract
An indefinitely valid electricity contract refers to a contract that is not fixed-term and does not have a specific end date. Instead, the contract continues until either party—the customer or the electricity supplier—decides to terminate it. The advantage of such a contract is that it offers flexibility, allowing you to switch electricity suppliers or reconsider your contract if, for example, the price changes.
An open-ended electricity contract can be terminated with 14 days’ notice.
