Who is Kvartaalisähkö contract for?
Kvartaalisähkö contract is suitable for customers who do not want to commit to a fixed-term electricity contract. A quarterly electricity contract can be terminated at any time with 14 days’ notice. Quarterly electricity brings predictability to expenses, as the price of the contract cannot increase unpredictably at any time, as the price is updated four times a year, as announced in advance.
Kvartaalisähkö contract is for customers with annual consumption of less than 50 MWh.
Kvartaalisähkö prices are updated four times a year
The energy price of a Kvartaalisähkö contracts are based on electricity market prices in the electricity derivatives market. The contract price is updated four times a year, with new pricing periods beginning on 1 January, 1 April, 1 July, and 1 October.
The price for each new period is announced one month before it takes effect:
- The price for the first period of the year is announced on the last day of November.
- The price for the second period is announced on the last day of February.
- The price for the third period is announced on the last day of May.
- The price for the fourth period is announced on the last day of August.
The price includes electricity trading costs and other associated costs, such as profile costs. Updated prices are announced at least one month before the start of each new pricing period.
