Switch to e-invoicing

With an e-invoice, your electricity bill is sent directly to your online banking service. It is an easy, secure and paperless way to receive and pay your invoices.

We recommend electronic invoicing instead of paper invoices. You can choose either an e-invoice or an invoice by email. You can switch to email invoicing through our customer portal or mobile app.

What is an e-invoice?

An e-invoice is a digital version of a paper invoice and contains the same information. It arrives in your online banking service before the due date and is stored in your bank’s invoice archive.

The necessary payment information, such as the bank account and reference number, is already included. This reduces the risk of typing errors and makes paying your electricity bill quick and easy.

Depending on your bank, you can also choose automatic payment for your e-invoices.

Electricity billing FAQ

See our frequently asked questions about billing, invoices and other ways to receive and pay your invoices.

As a rule, we send an invoice once a month unless another billing schedule has been agreed.

If the total amount is less than €5, the invoice will be issued the following month. If your invoices are typically small, you can request a less frequent billing schedule, in which case invoices are sent six times a year.

If meter readings are unavailable, the invoice is based on estimated consumption. The estimate is corrected on the following invoice once the actual readings are available.

Electricity billing is based on consumption measured hourly by your electricity meter.

If you receive two electricity invoices covering the same period from two different energy companies, you purchase your electricity from a different company than the one responsible for electricity distribution (a.k.a. transmission) in your area.

In this case, you receive one invoice for electricity supply and another for electricity distribution.

If you purchase both electricity and distribution from the same company, they can be invoiced on a single bill. If you live in the Keravan Energia or Sipoon Energia distribution network area but purchase electricity from another supplier, the electricity and distribution charges cannot currently be combined into one invoice.

Yes. If you do not use online banking and cannot receive e-invoices, you can make a direct payment agreement with your bank. Your bank will then automatically pay the electricity invoices covered by the agreement on your behalf.

You can also pay your invoice through OmaSähkö or the Keravan Energia mobile app.

Keravan Energia is the supplier of last resort in the electricity network areas of Kerava and Sipoo. This means that, as a resident of these areas, you can enter into an electricity contract with us even if your credit history is poor or you have been unable to secure a contract with other providers for other reasons.

We will check your credit history, and each situation is assessed on a case-by-case basis. If your credit record contains serious adverse entries, you may still enter into a contract with us, but we will require a security deposit. The deposit will be equivalent to the cost of five months of electricity consumption. If you have any outstanding unpaid bills with us, these must be settled. Alternatively, a security deposit must be paid—before a new contract can be made. This policy applies to both our consumer and business customers.

Debt collection for unpaid Keravan Energia invoices is handled by Ropo Oy.

Electricity is not disconnected immediately after an invoice becomes overdue.

We will first send you a payment reminder. If the invoice remains unpaid, we will then send you a disconnection notice.

Note!
We will only disconnect the electricity supply if you have significantly failed to make the required payments or have breached your contractual obligations. In practice, the electricity supply will not be disconnected until at least five (5) weeks after the payment due date.

If you are unable to pay your bill due to illness, unemployment or another specifik reason, we will not disconnect the electricity supply until three (3) months after the payment due date, provided that you have informed us of your illness or situation.

If your permanent home is heated with electricity, the electricity supply will not be disconnected due to unpaid bills between the beginning of October and the end of April until at least four (4) months have passed since the payment due date.

You can contact us about your invoice until the payment reminder is due. After the due date of the payment reminder, your payment matters will be handled by Ropo.
